Major Project: Producing a Short Film

The following movie, titled "All-Dressed", is a ten-minute short film produced by LCC students. The film was submitted and accepted into the NYC Independent Film Festival. Our troop of LCC film producers subsequently attended the premiere of their movie in New York City.

Some of the projects produced in this class include:

  • Silent film
  • Stop motion
  • Animation (3D, Tetes-a-claques, Southpark, etc)
  • Short Films
  • Music videos
  • Greenscreen FX

Some of the skills taught for this project include:

  • short story writing and script adaptation
  • storyboarding
  • SLR photography
  • Technical use of HD cameras & wireless audio
  • special effects (e.g. greenscreen)
  • Photoshop for film
  • Audacity for audio editing
  • music composition using Garageband
  • Final Cut Studio / Premiere for Editing the above-mentioned skills into your film

Optional Project #1: Producing an Animated Short Film

The following is a sample of a short animated film produced by LCC students. In this film, animated characters take a tour of LCC and its facilities.

Some of the skills taught for this project include:

  • short story writing and script adaptation

  • Macromedia Director (animation software)
  • Photoshop for animation purposes
  • Audacity for audio editing
  • Music composition using Garageband
  • Final Cut Studio / Premiere for editing the above-mentioned skills Into your film
