Pierre Elliott Trudeau

by Caroline Miller and Emma Wright Nicholl

TOPIC

We did our presentation on Pierre Elliot Trudeau, a former Prime Minister of Canada, because he was one of the most influential men in Canadian history. Although he has passed on, he still remains one of the most remembered and honored men in the country and will always be known as a legend. Since he was such an important man who accomplished so much in his life, we did our documentary on his family life. We chose to do our project on him, for these reasons and we also felt he was an important part of Canada’s history.

TECHNIQUES

- Using different transitions (page, dissolve, stretch) which went from graphic to graphic
- Used microphone to record
- Used Audacity files to create music
- Used Final Cut pro. to put all our pictures, with our music and voice recording together

TEAM WORK

We didn't really split the work up in any orderly fashion, we both wanted to learn about all aspects of how to create a documentary, so we both helped each other for different parts. Although we each did work on different parts, in the end we made sure that we both knew how to create music, record, and put together the documentary.

WHAT WE LEARNED

- We learned how to use new programs such as Final Cut Pro and Audacity
- We learned how to create a documentary
- We learned how to edit a documentary

CORRECTIONS

We received a list of corrections from our piers, although for the time that we had could only correct a few of them. The comments were very good and helped us improved our project. Some of the comments included, too close to mic, no introduction and more detail in narrative.
