THURSDAY (If possible, bring your own digital camera).
- Thusrday morning: Students should review each others answers and may make revisions. Be sure to review the "short essay" rubric to ensure that you have met all expectations. Upon completion, students must then FirstClass their final essays to their assigned teacher for the day, as well as their team leader, AND, Mr. Auclair by Thursday night.
- Students should discuss each others chosen activities and plan out their investigation for that afternoon. Keep in mind that your investigations will form the basis of a collective report. Prepare any tables or spreadshets that you can print out (or simlpy draw them out) and use to record your data. see "field study" for project instructions. Your recording sheets need to be well-thought out so that your are gathering data that can later be used in a chart or table of sorts.
- Each team should visit www.royalsaskmuseum.ca/gallery/life_sciences/footprint_mx_2005.swf and complete the footprint survey.
- Each team is required to produce a poster 16 inches x 20 inches (resolution: 200dpi). However, each student will be responsible in producing their own section of the poster. Divided into four sections, this means that each student will produce an 8 inch by 10 inch section. Time permitting, students may begin work on their posters Thursday morning and must complete them at home Thursday evening. See the "poster" project for instructions.
- Thursday afternoon: Conduct your field study. Collect numeric data, take pictures and/or video, conduct interviews, using a simple digital camera.
- Thursday evening: Complete your poster. Save it as a 'PSD' file (containing all of your layers) and as a JPEG file on your laptop.
- Time permitting, produce your 1 to 2 minute report using Photostory.
- Friday morning...you will complete your team poster and print them. You will also have time to work on your Photostory project.
