Photostory
Assignment
(C. Auclair)
General Objective:
Produce a 60 second investigative news report highlighting
significant points relating to your topic. Use Photostory
to combine relevant images and/or video, accompanied by your voice.
Specific Objectives:
- Typically,
within a 60 second report, you would not want to use a picture more than 5
seconds, which means that you will need roughly 10 to 12 visuals (pictures
from the web, pictures you took, your poster, graphs from excel, 10-15
seconds of video, etc). Try use a
variety of media that are highly relevant to your topic.
- Typically,
a sentence may take 10 seconds to read. As such, you should prepare a
written narrative comprised of six or seven sentences that you will read
during your report. You may want to copy/paste some important points from
your written essay.
- When
recording your voice-over, try not to sound like you are reading. Rather,
try to emphasis and inflect your voice at appropriate points to sound like
you are talking naturally, and convincingly.
- Submitting
Your Work: Export your report as a WMV movie onto your ‘Z’ drive in
the project folder for this assignment. Name it appropriately as indicated
in early project outlines (e.g., lastname_course_project)
- Due
Date: Tuesday, September 3. Late assignments will be docked.
