Photostory Assignment

(C. Auclair)

General Objective:

Produce a 60 second investigative news report highlighting significant points relating to your topic. Use Photostory to combine relevant images and/or video, accompanied by your voice.

Specific Objectives:

  1. Typically, within a 60 second report, you would not want to use a picture more than 5 seconds, which means that you will need roughly 10 to 12 visuals (pictures from the web, pictures you took, your poster, graphs from excel, 10-15 seconds of video, etc).  Try use a variety of media that are highly relevant to your topic.

  1. Typically, a sentence may take 10 seconds to read. As such, you should prepare a written narrative comprised of six or seven sentences that you will read during your report. You may want to copy/paste some important points from your written essay.

  1. When recording your voice-over, try not to sound like you are reading. Rather, try to emphasis and inflect your voice at appropriate points to sound like you are talking naturally, and convincingly.

  1. Submitting Your Work: Export your report as a WMV movie onto your ‘Z’ drive in the project folder for this assignment. Name it appropriately as indicated in early project outlines (e.g., lastname_course_project)

  1. Due Date: Tuesday, September 3. Late assignments will be docked.
