Presently, teachers and Middle School students are using mobile laptop carts as a means of integrating technology into the curriculum. In 2006-07, all Middle School students will be issued laptops. As a means of facilitating the integration of technology throughout the Middle School curriculum, as well as promote collaboration across subject areas, the present integration plan is now being phased in. This plan seeks to create an on-line magazine whereby students would publish at least one of their class projects during the course of the 2005-06 academic year.
Essentially, a comprehensive computer skills curriculum has been developed with different software skills (projects) being assigned to various disciplines in Grades 7 & 8. Teachers then integrate their assigned computer skills into a unit that they are teaching in their course.
